Veggie Food To Go

Sometimes, you’re on the go … but you’re still vegetarian(/pescatarian/vegan)! Here are some quick veggie pit stops.

Silver Moon Bakery

105th & Broadway, Manhattan

I feel so lucky that this bakery is right near my apartment! While it’s not all that shocking that their bread and pastries are all vegetarian, I was surprised that all their sandwiches (made daily and liable to disappear by 2pm) are too! I’ve tried most of them, and I have yet to find one I don’t like. They also serve coffee and espresso drinks, which are not quite as good as Plowshares’ a half block away, but still quite good. Silver Moon Bakery has a small outdoor seating area and no indoor seating. At lunch time, there is nearly always a line to get in, and currently for COVID, they only let 4 customers in at a time and actually enforce their mask requirement. They do challot that I have not tried and other Jewish Holiday foods. And they’re open until 7pm, which I really appreciate!
